The public are welcome to speak to the Committee about any agenda item provided that they give notice to Democratic Services by no later than 12.30 pm the working day before the meeting. They will have a maximum of three minutes to speak.

 

4.

Appointment of a Licensing Sub-Committee for the Council Year 2019/20

TO RESOLVE –

 

(a)         That a licensing sub-committee is established (in accordance with section 9(1) of the Licensing Act 2003).

(b)         That the membership of the Licensing Sub-Committee comprise three councillors drawn from the Licensing Committee plus a reserve councillor, the selection of the councillors being based on a rota system reflected by the details which will be circulated for the meeting.

(c)         That, as previously agreed by the Committee, the political balance rules for the Sub-Committees be relaxed, but that so far as practicable the Sub-Committees be politically balanced, unless for reasons of non-availability or conflict of interest that is not possible.

(This resolution needs to be agreed unanimously by the Committee).

(d)         That all functions of this Licensing Committee (referred to it in accordance with section 7(1) of the Licensing Act 2003) are hereby (in accordance with section 10 of the Licensing Act 2003) arranged to be discharged by the Licensing Sub-Committee and licensing officer in accordance with the Scheme of Delegation set out at Appendix G of the Council’s Licensing Policy (determined on 20 April 2017).
