Minutes:

The following declarations were made:

 

·         Councillor Spooner made a voluntary announcement regarding item 10, the site was in his ward and he had had discussions prior to being appointed on as a Planning Committee member and that he would leave chamber for that item. Councillor Spooner also made a voluntary announcement that he was the council’s Sports Champion in relation to item 9.

·         Councillor Harvey-Quirke made a voluntary announcement that she had received email correspondence in relation to item 8 but it was non-prejudicial and that she used to work for polo farm but now works for Canterbury Christchurch University which used the site in item 9 as a sport facility but this was also a non-prejudicial declaration.

·         Councillor Flack made a voluntary announcement that she had been in correspondence with the Parish Council regarding item 12 and would leave the chamber for that item.

·         Councillor Nolan made a voluntary announcement that she was an employee and governor of Canterbury Christchurch University in relation to item 9, however this was a non-prejudicial declaration.

·         Councillor Eden-Green made a voluntary announcement that he was the council’s representative  on the Strategic Access Management and Monitoring Strategy (SAMMS) on the relevant items and that he knew the previous owner of the site in relation to item 9.

·         Councillor Baker made a voluntary announcement in relation to item 13 that he had had discussions with the local residents, he would speak in the his capacity as the ward councillor before leaving the chamber when members discuss the application.

·         The Chairman made a voluntary announcement that he was a Kent County Councillor in relation to the relevant items.

·         Some of the speakers were known to the committee.

If any member of the public wishes to speak on any item / planning application for the meeting they must give notice to Democratic Services by 12.30pm on Monday, 16 September 2019.

 

It is the usual practice of the Committee to allow any public speakers to be heard immediately before the consideration of the relevant application / item.

It was queried when a report on the recent planning inquiry would be made available to the committee, the Head of Planning gave a brief update and confirmed that the report would be available at a future committee.
