Additional Information

I spent most of my working life in export marketing and running educational businesses. So not only have I travelled all over the world, but I have seen various education systems from an international perspective too.

I have been a councillor for Wincheap since 1999 and have been actively involved in many campaigns from saving the Kent & Canterbury hospital to changing the Local Plan.

My particular interests are planning and transport - both very sensitive ones in a historic city like Canterbury.

I have been a past Lord Mayor and, in addition to my committee duties as a councillor, I am a trustee of the Thanington Resource Centre, and am the Councils representative on the Reims Twinning Association, the Fairtrade Steering Group and the Canterbury Arts Council. I am also involved with several residents associations.

My wife has worked in Further Education up to Director level and we have two grown up children.
